Iran has launched drone attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain.

In response to these attacks, the U.S. military has reportedly taken retaliatory action against an Iranian military site on Qeshm Island, located near the Strait of Hormuz.

Following the escalation of military tensions between the United States and Iran, it was announced today that new drone and missile attacks have been carried out in the Strait of Hormuz and at a Kuwaiti airport.

Due to this Iranian drone and missile attack, Kuwait’s main international airport sustained significant damage and temporarily suspended operations. It has been confirmed that one person lost their life and several others were injured in the attack.

Brigadier General Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, spokesperson for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense, confirmed that in addition to the casualties, the building suffered severe damage, forcing the airport to cancel flights and divert others.

Following the missile exchange that began last night, the U.S. Central Command announced that U.S. and Bahraini defense forces successfully thwarted three missile and drone attacks targeting Bahrain, where the U.S. Fifth Fleet headquarters is located.

In what the U.S. described as an act of "self-defense," it was reported that the U.S. carried out airstrikes on a military base and a communication tower on Iran’s Qeshm Island, located near the Strait of Hormuz.

Additionally, it was reported that the U.S. launched a missile strike on a vessel heading toward Iran due to the naval blockade imposed by the U.S. in the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, UAE senior diplomat Anwar Gargash stated on his X (formerly Twitter) account that this Iranian attack was not directed at a single country, but at all, and urged Gulf nations to take a "firm and unified stance."

According to Iran’s Fars and Tasnim news agencies, Iran has severed ties with intermediaries due to escalating tensions with Hezbollah in Lebanon. Iranian officials maintain a firm stance that for ceasefire negotiations to continue, the fighting in Lebanon must stop first.

However, U.S. President Donald Trump denied that negotiations had broken down, stating, "The talks are continuing; as I told Iran, now is the time to make a deal."

Currently, the Israeli military has pushed deeper into Lebanon than at any point in its long history since the ceasefire agreement, and the situation in Lebanon has become the main obstacle to a broader agreement between Trump and Iran.

Meanwhile, political tensions continue on the diplomatic front. In a briefing to Congress, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio officially announced that the United States would only be able to ease sanctions on Iran once the country completely halts its nuclear program.
