IRGC has announced a retaliatory strike on a U.S. military base.

Reports emerging from the Middle East indicate that the conflict between the U.S. and Iran, which had been quiet for some time, has now changed its form and shifted into direct attacks.

Following a new and surprise U.S. airstrike on a military installation near the strategic Iranian port city of Bandar Abbas, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced that it had carried out retaliatory missile and drone strikes on a U.S. airbase in Kuwait.

This means that the two countries have now moved to firing missiles directly at each other, which has opened a very dangerous chapter for regional stability.

This is the second time in three days that the U.S. has attacked Iran; it is recalled that two days ago it carried out similar airstrikes on missile bases in southern Iran and on boats it claimed were laying mines.

For its part, the U.S. Central Command stated that the action taken was a preemptive strategy aimed at destroying four Iranian drones that were said to pose a threat to international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

This military alignment completely contradicts the reality of ongoing diplomatic efforts on the ground, and it is being criticized for putting at risk the peace negotiations that were expected to be started through a third party by Washington and Tehran to end the war sustainably.

The Revolutionary Guard, for its part, stated that the response given to the U.S. provocation was only the first warning, saying, "If Washington continues its aggression, it will face more advanced and decisive action," while refraining from giving detailed information.

On the other hand, an emergency siren was heard in Kuwait during the attack, but the Kuwaiti army announced that its air defense system was intercepting enemy missiles and drones that entered its airspace, and it refrained from stating exactly where the explosions came from.

Meanwhile, while the U.S.-Iran standoff is in this state, the Israel-Lebanon front is also heading toward a worse humanitarian disaster.

Although this series of military actions is described by the respective governments as a calculation to weaken the enemy forces and maintain the balance of power, in the current geopolitical situation, this kind of use of force has recreated high psychological pressure, economic crisis, and fear in the Middle East.
